Why do some leaves on my flowers look dark or marked?

Written by Pudu Ria Florist Southern

The outermost thick petals on flowers like roses are known as "guard petals," which nature intentionally creates to protect the delicate inner bloom during farm growth and transit. Simply use your fingers to gently peel away these coarse outer guard petals or snipped leaves to instantly reveal the pristine flower underneath.
